Small town with lots around. Amazing warm bay that we kayaked out into everyday (becuse Cabinas Jimenez provided free use of them) It is calm, swimable and full of fish and marine mammals.
We loved the ceviche at several places-Delphines is the favorite. fun vibe there on the water
Get your produce at the fresh market at the entrance to town-great selection.
Very hot at midday, but mornings and evenings are heavenly.

The nature and exploration available from PJ as a takeoff point was amazing. Books tours early, or you may not secure a space, take himing boots and shorts and waterproof raingear just in case, and be prepared to rough it a little.

Anne, at reception, was friendly and welcoming and always addressed me by name, as if she'd known me forever! That impressed me!
I loved the tropical decor, the ambiance and laid back vibe here. Loved meeting other guests in the common areas, from all over the world. Loved having the outdoor kitchen, and BBQ to cook in.

We did a daytrip to Corcovado Nationalpark.
We did a daytrip to Corcovado Nationalpark. The Tour was organized by Osa Wild (a local organisation).
The Guide was very good and we saw lots of exotic animals during the Day. Corcovado and Osa Peninsula are very wild and untamed in relation to some more touristic places in Costa Rica. Puerto Jiménez isn‘t that special, but it‘s a good place to start Tours to Corcovado.

A quiet, unspoilt small harbour town.
A quiet, unspoilt small harbour town. Los Delphines was a great place to eat, chill and watch the wildlife. Watch out for caimans! Jaguar is a lovely little gift shop selling delicious drinks and ice creams. Night kayaking to see the bioluminescence was fantastic.
Lovely property in a good, convenient location. The apartment was amazing and had everything you could need, including amazing shampoo and conditioner. The washing machine was an added bonus, so we could get all our washing done. The hosts were friendly, and organized. We received good instructions on how to find the place, how to check in, and check out instructions. This was easily the best value for money accommodation we have stayed in in Costa Rica. Would absolutely recommend to anyone staying in Puerto Jimenez
Incredible view, clean, comfortable, and super helpful and fun staff. We were looking for a good deal for one night, and actually stayed 3 nights as we really loved this hotel. The room was beautiful and well equipped. The grounds were awesome. A great mattress and really great AC! Annie was our host and she went way over the top to help us with local attractions, dining, storing our luggage, and accommodating us when severe weather threw a wrench in our plans
This hotel is a hidden gem and so is Puerto Jiminez!
Great location in the heart of Puerto Jimenez, which couldn’t be closer to the standard bakery meeting point for the Corcovado trip to leave from.
Walkable to all restaurants and waterfront and felt very safe! Staff incredibly friendly, including offering great local restaurant recommendations, and accommodation simple and nice with much needed air con.
Staff kindly allowed us to store our luggage for 2 nights while we went to Corcovado and so we stayed an extra night upon return to Puerto Jimenez.
Beautiful Hotel and hotel grounds! The rooms, restaurant, garden and sea is simply amazing. One of the few places that we have visited (if not the only) where the waves were small (bit of a lake feeling).
They have free kayaks for guest use in very good condition. We went out one afternoon and actually got to kayak with dolphins!
We only stayed at Kunken Lodge for two nights, but if we are visiting Costa Rica again (hopefully) we will definitely book a couple more nights here!
We had a wonderful stay at Anluka House. Giselle was very warm, kind, and welcoming. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It had a refrigerator, washing machine, and a burner to cook (with all utensils and plates). It was very close to places we needed to go in Puerto Jimenez (bus depot, supermarket, tour offices, etc). There was a very friendly hummingbird outside on the bushes right by the room. We hope to stay with Giselle again soon! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
I stayed 3 nights in this fantastic location. The place is simply beautiful and a great place to relax. I was really well looked after by Lorena, Gustavo and Dalila who are all very charming and kind. The food was delicious and lots of it. I hope to go back one day.
It is remote and the road is challenging but that is all part of the adventure. It was the cheapest and best place I stayed during my stay in Costa Rica.
Sura is definitely one of the best host I ever had. She welcomed us super well, we a giant clean room situated in the center of Puerto Jiménez. She also told us what to do the next day and how to go without being ripped off by tour guides. She was amazing and the place as well, and we couldn't recommend it more. Please, do also visit the small Soda right next to the house. Amazing food for a super cheap price 🙌🐋
the architecture was gorgeous. they left bits of jungle sprinkled in to keep as much natural landscape as possible and the wood finish is beautiful. best gym I’ve ever seen at a hotel for sure. my room was a full apartment with patio and I really felt like it could be home away from home. I had everything I needed there and the staff was like family.
Off season prices are low for Costa Rica and what you get - clean room, a/c, private bath, wifi.
The place is super beautiful, large nice communal area with kitchen. Staff is very nice and helpful, they care a lot of the place. They offer tours and tour guides, I would suggesting comparing prices with other places around town :)
Very nice hotel with beautiful and spacious rooms. It is surrounded by a large garden where we saw monkeys, iguanas, parrots,...
They provide surfboards, kayaks and more for guests to use on the hotel's huge beach.
The food in the restaurant is excellent.
Very nice and comfy house, decorated with style and even with a semi-automatic washing machine and dryer, which was a blessing after 3 days in Corcovado. Close to the centre of Puerto Jimenez. Drinking coffee in the balcony was great.
I stayed there for few days and it was just perfect. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The value for the price is good. This hotel runs by a family and they are very good people. They are very friendly and helpful
The hotel is located a bit outside of the town, roughly 20 min walk. You can hear the howler monkeys for a wake up call. We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel also offers bicycles for free to get around.
The location, the grounds, the staff were all great. A wonderful location if you only have a few days to enjoy Puerto Jimenez and don't have the time for full-fledged journeys into the jungle.
We are traveling to Costa Rica quite often and this resort in the jungle is very unique, animals come to you everywhere, food is perfect, nobody disturbs you there.
